Hearty, loaded nachos with ground beef, melted cheese, juicy jalapeños, and sour cream on top!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey

  • 1 can sliced jalapeños

  • 1 can of nacho cheese

  • 1 bag of tortilla chips

  • sour cream, for garnish

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese blend of choice

  • 1/2 large white onion, diced

  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced

  • Seasonings
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin

  • 1/2 tbsp paprika

  • 1/2 tbsp kosher salt

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • 2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp vegetable oil

Directions

  • Begin by dicing up your onions, mincing the garlic, and pre-measuring your other ingredients.
  • On medium heat, sweat your onions for 5 minutes, then add in your ground beef and break it up with your spatula. Cook until the beef is brown all the way through. Depending on the fat percentage of the beef, you may want to drain the excess grease at this point.
  • Add in all of your seasonings and mix until well incorporated, then add the minced garlic.
  • In a separate pot on medium heat, warm up your nacho cheese for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Now you’re ready to assemble! Layer the tortilla chips onto your plate and stack up the ground beef, nacho cheese, shredded cheese, jalapeños, and sour cream.
  • You can add any additional toppings of your choosing at this point and enjoy!

Notes

  • The ground beef I prefer to use is 80% lean 20% fat
  • I also like to pour some of the jalapeno juice onto the nachos for a little extra flavor and spice.
